The lowest qualified bidder for the project is Diamond Engineering with a bid of $394,777A0. Although the submitted Old was higher than the engineer's estimate of $340,622.00, It is my ' opinion that bids received are competitive and accurate. The two lowest bids were within 1.5% of each other. (See attached bid tabulation) I have also talked with Diamond Engineering related to the proposed construction schedule and their workload. Although Diamond has a couple doter projects that will overtop this construction schedule, they assured me that meeting the August 1, 2017 substantial completion date will not be a problem. They have multiple paving crews available to staff these projects. Diamond is a reputable contractor In central Nebraska and has completed many projects of similar type, size, and scope. Based on the information above, I recommend awarding the bid from Diamond Engineering in the amount of $394,777.40. Please reel free to contact me with any questions or if you need additional information. Respectfully, Jeff R.
