Roll call members present, Michael Stromer - District 1, Glen Larsen — District 2, Lee Hogan- District 3 , Scott Thomsen — District 4, Dale Curtis- District 5, Chuck Neumann — District 6, Eldon Orthmann — District 7. Motion by Curtis, seconded by Stromer that this is an open public meeting of the Adams County Board of Supervisors. Roll Call; Ayes: Stromer, Larsen, Hogan, Thomsen, Curtis, Neumann, Orthmann. Nays: None. Orthmann stated that minutes from the November 21, 2017 meeting have been circulated and will stand approved unless there is a correction. No corrections were suggested Public notice of this meeting has been given by publication in the Hastings Tribune and by posting. An agenda was available to the board members and was kept continuously current and posted in the County Clerk's office, the main courthouse lobby and the Adams County website. No public comments were made. At 9:52 a.m. Adams County Deputy Attorney, David Bergin began the bid opening process for the purchase of the former Convention and Visitor Bureau building, located at 100 North Shore Drive. Bergin opened the first bid submitted by David Sheppard of 1902 W 10th Street in Hastings, in the amount of $15,000.00 Bergin opened the seconded bid submitted by Darla Bruna of 4740 W. Prairie Lake Rd in Hastings, in the amount of $180,000.00. Motion by Thomsen, seconded by Stromer to accept the bid of $180,000.00 submitted by Darla Bruna. The resolution states that beginning with the 2019 term of office, the county will no longer require or provide living accommodations for the Adams County Sheriff. RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE DISCONTINUANCE OF THE PROVISK)N OF LIVING QUARTERS FOR THE: COUNTY SHERIFF Adams County Resolution No. 2017-12.05.01 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOAR DOF SUPERVISORS OF ADAMS COUNTY, NEBRASKA that: WHEREAS, although Adam County has traditionally provided living quarters for the County Sheriff in the Adams County Courthouse in close proximity to the jail; and WHEREAS, the Adam County Board of Super sisors hereby detamincs the there is no longer a necessity to provide such living quarters for the County Sheriff THEREFORE, the Adams County Boyd of Supervisors isors hereby finds and decrees that: 1. Commencing on the first day of the term of the County Sheriff which begins in January. of 2019, Adams County will no longer provide living quarters for the Adams County Sheriff. 2. The Adams County Board of Supervisors shall set the salary of the County Sheriff whose term shall commence in January, 2019, accordingly.
