HomeMy WebLinkAboutSP11-01-10COURTHOUSE HASTINGS NEBRASKA Monday, November 1, 2010 A regular meeting of the Adams County Board of Supervisors was held as per public notice given with Chairman, Larry Woodman, presiding. Roll call members present were: Thomsen, Curtis, Neumann, Hynes Orthmann, Saathoff and Woodman. Motion by Neumann, seconded by Orthmann, that this meeting is a regular meeting of the Adams County Board of Supervisors and public notice of this meeting has been given by publication in the Hastings Tribune and by posting. An agenda was available to the members and an agenda was kept currently amended and posted in the County Clerk’s office. Roll call, ayes: Thomsen, Curtis, Neumann, Hynes, Orthmann, Saathoff and Woodman. Nays, none. The Chairman announced the locations of the open meetings law and agendas in the room. H e also asked if any Board member had any conflict of interest with any agenda item. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as circulated. Thomsen attended the Buildings and Grounds Committee meeting this morning. Saathoff attended a meeting of the Federal Reserve, a Chamber Board meeting on the 27th, a donor appreciation dinner at CCC on the 28th, a Chamber mini-institute and an HEDC meeting. Hynes attended the Region III meeting. Neumann attended the Lunch and Learn on the 27th, a CASA meeting on the 28th and the Buildings and Grounds meeting this morning. Curtis attended a Library Board meeting and Drug Court. Orthmann attended a brain storming meeting of the ACCVB Board on the 19th, County flu shots on the 20th, helped the County Clerk on the 20th with voting equipment and a Senior Services meeting on the 27th. He also announced that he and Cole Fowler will be leading the Veterans Day Parade on their motorcycles. Joe Ballweg, Veterans Service Officer presented information to the Board regarding upcoming events for Veterans Week. He reported about the Veterans parade on Saturday the 6th and also about the Veterans Day program at the City Auditorium on the 11th. Thomas Kirk, a 5 year Viet Nam POW, will be the program speaker and WWII POWs Carroll Wyman and George Spencer will be honored guests. He urged the Board members to attend if at all possible. Motion by Neumann, seconded by Hynes to approve claims and authorize the County Clerk to pay the same from their respective funds. Roll call, ayes: Thomsen, Curtis, Neumann, Hynes, Orthmann, Saathoff and Woodman. Nays, none. The Board conducted their quarterly jail inspection prior to adjourning.
