Motion by Curtis, seconded by Johnson that this is an open public meeting of the Adams County Board of Commissioners. Willis Hunt, 616 Madden Road in Hastings, addressed the board regarding concerns over the Adams County Justice Center Project. Mr. Hunt wants to know when plans will be available for public viewing. Commissioner Curtis stated that during the January 18,2022 meeting there will be a presentation with proposed plans. Lee Saathoff, 904 N 6th Ave in Hastings, addressed the board regarding concerns over the proposed salary increases for elected officials. Saathoff's understanding is the increase is 6%which seems excessive. Commissioner Curtis stated even with the proposed 6% salary increase, Adams County is still under the minimum salary recommendations published by NACO. Public Comment was closed. Motion by Stromer seconded by Johnson to approve the claims and direct the county clerk to pay them out of their respective accounts. Cannon outlined the timeline in which funds must be obligated and spent. Cannon also outlined some of the uses for the ARPA funds. Motion by Curtis seconded by Stromer to meet as a board of equalization to review and take action on motor vehicle tax exemption applications and tax list corrections. The Adams County Road and Bridge Committee has reviewed the bids and recommends rejecting the Assumption Road project at this time and approve proceeding with the Adams Central Ave and Bladen projects with the low bidders. A one year extension will allow proper review of the agreement and propose any necessary changes for the future agreement. Motion by Patterson seconded by Johnson to allow the chairman to sign the one year extension agreement with the City of Hastings for ambulance service. WHEREAS,CITY and COUNTY entered into an Agreement,herein referred to as the "original agreement"on January 23,2012,which is by reference made a part hereof and a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit"1",wherein CITY agreed to provide certain Necessary Ambulance Service within the jurisdiction of COUNTY according to the terms and conditions set forth therein;and WHEREAS,the original Agreement,by its terms,will expire on December 21,2021;and WHEREAS,the parties desire to extend the original agreement to December 21,2022 on the same terms and conditions; IT IS THEREFORE agreed by and between the parties as follows: I.That the term of the original agreement is hereby extended to December 21,2022 on the same tams and conditions and shall run through December 21,2022. 2.
