Motion by Larsen, seconded by Johnson that this is an open public meeting of the Adams County Board of Commissioners. Roll Call,Ayes:Stromer, Larsen, Hogan,Johnson, Curtis, Neumann, Patterson Nays: None Absent: None Chairman Hogan inquired if there were any conflicts of interest. No conflicts were disclosed. No public comments were made. Ron Pughes,Adams County Emergency Management Director presented an application for a 75%/25% grant for an outdoor warning siren. He mentioned that Adams County does not presently own any outdoor warning sirens. The siren would be located at the Adams Central Elementary School, with the pole already in place. The siren would have a two and a half mile coverage and could be heard at Idlewilde. He thought the approximate cost would be$4,200 and said his budget could absorb this cost. 511 ! Page Motion by Neumann, seconded by Larsen to approve applying for the 75%/25%grant for an outdoor warning siren to be located at Adams Central. There is no return to Adams County and the county does not benefit from managing the grant. He has contacted NEMA and feels they will find an alternate fiscal agent. Motion by Curtis,seconded by Stromer to allow Adams County Emergency Management to relinquish their roll in the Nebraska Regional Interoperability Network. This is a 2022 project. She requested the Chairman sign the agreement. She reminded the board that the public hearing will be on February 15,2022 at 10:15 am. She said per the Road/Bridge Committee the recommendation was to purchase a 2022 John Deere,6-wheel drive motor grader from Murphy Tractor and Equipment at$272,377.00. Commissioner Neumann mentioned that the committee thought maybe they should buy a second motor grader. Jake Ryba with Murphy Tractor and Equipment spoke about the benefit of purchasing a second motor grader at this year's State Bid Contract for delivery next fiscal year, as the prices will more than likely be going up.
