Adams County Board of Supervisors met in regular session as per adjournment of June 6th, 1927. T. R. Rainforth
Qaairman presiding.
Roll call, all members were present as follows: Bauer, Cole, airry . Gartner, Rainforth, Ruhter and Vdeitesel.
Minutes of the last regular meeting were read a.nd approved.
A petition for bridge to be built between sections 28 and 29, Logan Township;- signed by Edward C. Gen -tart and
others, was read and referred to the Road & Bridge Committee,.
Motion by Vaditesel, second by Ruhter that in the matter of arenewal of Mothers Pension for Mrs. Laura Marsh ,
ordered by the County Court, that the order of the Court be compled with and the Clerk inktnucted to issue
warrants for this pension. Poll call, all voted a.ye. Motion carried.
motion by Ruhter, second by Cole that the following official Bonds be approved: Carl Dahl, Road Ovekseer,
Listrict # 2, Highland Township, Henry Hueske, Road Overseer, District # 4, Highland Township, John Grote -ids,

L. Crosson, Sheriff and the second quarterly report of Lucia. Dillenbach, Clerk of the Distrit Court, and
semi-annual report of L. N. Button, Register of Deeds, and the semi-annual report of J. A. Cates, County Clerk
were read and upon motion by Gartner, second by Furry these reports were accepted andordered placed on file.
At 12 o'clock Noon, the .Doard recessed until 1:15 P. Id,, when they again resumed with all members present.
'motion by Gartner, second by Furry that we purchase one car load red cedar piling, 8. inch tip, one-half of
car 16 foot length at 30,?; per foot and one-half of car 12 foot length at 280 per foot, F 0. B. Pauline.
Roll call, all voted aye. Motion carried.
lotion by Gartner, second by Ruhter that the claim of Raymond L. Croeson, Sheriff on the General Fund fo r
$174.85 be allowed at169.75 and that the claim o f 11, F Favinger on the General Fund for 50.00 be allowed
at 6'25.00 . Roll call, all voted aye, mrbtion carried.
Motion by Cole, second by liauer that the claim of the Burroughs Adding Machine Co., onthe General Fund for
$ 22.05 be allowed subject to a certificate for deliquent personal taxes filed by the County Treasurer and
attached to said claim, roll call, all voted aye, motion carried.
"otion by Gartner, second by aitesel that we contract with Frank H. Kitts to re -locate a steel bridge -taken
out from between sections 17 and 20, Wa,nda Township at a point between sections 33 Banta Tovaship and Section
4, Cottonwood Township at an agreed price of $450.00 complete for all labor in erecting the same. Roll call,
all voted aye. Motion carried.
Motion by Cole, second by Tlhitesel that the following 1irns be allowed on their respective funds and tle Clerk

Adams County, Nebr. , as returned by the Assessors' and to erder thesalaries paid accordingly was read before
the Board. The Board duly considered this petition and upon. motion by thitesel, second by Gartner no
action was taken on this peition at this meeting.
Motion by Ruhter, Eecond by Vihitesel that this Board now adjourn to meet again Tuesday July 12th, 1927 at
9 o' clock A. M. Motion carried. Board adjourned.

Minutes of the last regular meeting o f July 6th, 1927 were read and approved.
Motion by Gartner, second by Ruhter that the following copy of the minutes of the Adams County Board in
joint session with the Department of Public Works held on April 27th, 1927 be spread upon the records of
this county and that the a.ction o f the Adams County timbers in this joint meeting be confirmed bythe entire

legal newspaper of gateraleirculation in Adams County calling for bids on work to be constructed in Adams
County - the following proceedings were had and done:
Bids were opened, read and tabulated on April 27, 1927, at 950 A. M. in the office of the Department of
Public vtorks, State Capitol, Lincoln, Nebraska, in the presence of:

Moved by Mr. uochran and seconded by Mr. Ruhter that the contract for 143,500 dquare yards o f 1" Gravel
Surfacing be awarded to H, L. Peterson of Omaha, Nebraska, as per hid low bid of $ .04 per sq. yd. - Total.

On roll call all members voted in the affirmativemotion was declared carried.

The Board went into executive session and duly considered all bids and arrived at the conclusion that all bids
were too high and should be rejected.
Motion by Ruhter, second by %-ihitesel that all bids on Adams County Projects numbers 5, 6 and 7 be rejected
by this Board and that the certi fi.ed checks filed with the bids be returned by thte bidders, Roll cal, all votei
aye. Motion carried,
Motion by .Cole, second by Furry that the petition of Herbert Sauermann and; others• asking that a bridge be
built between ° sections 13 and 12, toren 7,, range. 12,be denied. Motion carried.

o f Omaha, Nebr, , were the low bidders on t'ro j ects numbers 5 and 6 and R, T. Schlueter on Proje et # 7.
Motion by Gartner, second by Whitesel, that we enter into a contract with the H. J. Peterson Go. , of Omaha,
Nebr, , on their bid four graveling Adams County Projects numbers 5 and 6. Audi that we enter into a contract
with R. T. Schlueter on his bid for graveling project # 7. Roll call, all voted aye. Motion carried.
Motion by x'urry, second by nuhter that the certified check of the Western Bridge & Construction Company be
returned to theme Motion carried.
Motion by Ruhter, second by Whitesel that we order wo car loads of bridge plank from the Standard Bridge Co. ,
of Omaha, Nebr., at an agreedprice of $37.50 per , F. 0. B., on car at nenosaw and one car at Holstein.
Roll call, all voted aye. motion carried.
At 12 o'clock Noon the Board recessed until 1:15 P. M., when they again resumed With all members present.
Motion by Cole, second by Whitesel that we recommend that the County Offices be closed on Tuesday August 9th
in the afternoon and all day Wednesday August 10th on account of the Adams County Fair.
Motion by Furry, second by Lauer that the following list of 60 names be submitted to the Clerk of the
District Court from which to draw the jury for the September term. Roll call, all voted aye. Motion

Guardian, of Henry S. Traut, an incompetent person, asking the Sloard of Supervisors for permission to sell

granted by this Board and the Chairman and Clerk of the Board be instructed to sign a certificate to this effect.

The committee consisting of J. H. Rirry, P. H. Gartner, and W. A. Cole who were appointed by the Board to
interview land owners along a proposed new road across section 11, town 8, rnage 11, reported that they
had interviewed these land owners and that satisfactory progress was made in securing right o f way for this
road, The Chairman continued the committee with instructions to proceed ftirther.
A communication from the Pastor o f the Sacred Heart Church o f Roseland, Nebr. , was received, protesting
against the payment of taxes on a hall owned by the Church in the Village of Roseland. No action was taken
by the Board.
At 12 o'clock Noon the Board recessed until 1:15 P L., when they again resumed with all members present.

from the Road Dragging Fund to the County Highway Fund. Roll call, all voted aye. Motion carried,

accountants o f Lincoln, Nebr., to audit all the Adams County Offices for the year 1927 at an agreed price

Minutes of the last regular meeting were rear and approved.
Motion by Furry, second by Bauer that the following renewal of the Mothers Pension granted by the County Co:c`r ,
of Emma Dell Young, Mrs. David Repp and Mrs. Wanda Gettman be confirmed by this Board and the Clerk instructed to
issue warrants for said Pension. Roll call, all voted aye. Motion carried.
Motion by Gartner, second by Ruhter that the following duplicate miscellaneous receipts from the County Treasurers

First National Bank depository Bond, be approved by this Board, Motion carried.
A. 1. Battan made application for the position of Janitor of the Court House, Grounds and Buildings for the Year
1928 which application upon motion by Cole, second by Whitesel was granted by the Board at the same salary viz.
$100.00 per month.
Application for admission to the Soldiers and Sailors home at Burket ,Nebr., of Mary M. Radley of Ayr, Nebr. was
read before the Board and upon motion by Gartner, second by Cole the application was granted.
Motion by Whitesel, second by Ruhter that we accept Adams County Gravel Project #5 as being completed according
to the termsof the contract entered into with the H. J. Peterson Company of Omaha, Nebraska. also that we accept
Adams County Gravel Project #7 as completed to the contract with R. T. Schlueter of Kenesaw, Nebraska. Motion
carried.
At 12 o'clock Noon the Board recessed until 1:15 P.M. when they reassembled with all members present.
Motion by Ruhter, second by Furry that the County Treasurer be and is hereby instructed to transfer $13,000.00
from the Inheritance Tax Fund to the County Gravel Fund, Motion carried.
Motion by Whitesel, second by Ruhter that we increase the Budget adopted by this Board for the County Highway
Fund for the year 1927, from $20,000.00 to $24,190.00 credited and distributed among Supervisor Districts
