The upper six (6) inches of the subgrade shall be scarified, mixed and recompacted to the following compaction requirements: Percent Density Moisture Minimum Requirements Maximum 95 Min. Opt. -3% Opt. +3% Areas not meeting specified moisture density test requirements shall be removed and recompacted at the Contractor's expense. Fly Ash stabilized subgrades shall use the ratio of 10% applied to parent soils and shall be mixed thoroughly within the upper 12" of subgrade. Fly Ash stabilized subgrades will be paid at the unit bid price as outlined in the Proposal. All subgrade compaction and water necessary for subgrade construction shall not be paid for directly but shall be considered subsidiary to the items of the contract. Excavation, backfilling, and sawing control joints, keyway, tie bars, dowel pins, and rubberized joint sealant shall be considered subsidiary to the unit price per square yard of pavement.
