ORDINANCE NO. 4158
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HASTINGS, NEBRASKA, CREATING
AN ALLEY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT WITHIN THE CITY OF HASTINGS
TO BE KNOWN AS ALLEY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 2008-1;
DEFINING THE BOUNDARIES OF SAID DISTRICT AND_ PROPERTY
CONTAINED THEREIN; AND, PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION.
OF IMPROVEMENTS THEREIN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE_ _ MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HASTINGS, NEBRASKA:
Section 1. The Mayor and City Council of the City of Hastings; Adams County,
Nebraska, hereby find and determine that it is in the best interests of the City that the
alley from North Kansas Avenue to North Colorado Avenue between 15t Street and 2nd
Street including the intersections at North Kansas Avenue and North Colorado Avenue
in the City of Hastings, Nebraska, be improved as hereinafter described; and that it is in
the best interests of the City of Hastings to create an alley improvement district for the
construction of the said improvements.
Section 2. There is hereby created within the City of Hastings, Nebraska, an alley
improvement district to be known and designated as Alley Improvement District No. 2008-
1,the outer boundaries of which shall contain the following property:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of Lot 1, Block 22, Johnson Addition to the
City of Hastings, Adams County, Nebraska; Thence Easterly. along the North line
'(extended) of said Lot 1 a distance of 80.00 feet to the Northwest corner of Lot
12, Block 23 of said Johnson Addition; Thence Southerly along the West line of
Lots 12 and 13 of said Block 23 a distance of 264.00 feet to the Southwest
corner of said Lot 13; Thence Westerly along the South line (extended) of Lots
13 thru 24 of said Block 22 a distance of 460.00 feet to the Southeast corner of
Lot 24, Block 21 of said Johnson Addition; Thence Northerly along the East line
of Lots 24 and 1 of said Block 21 a distance of 264.00 feet to the Northeast
corner of said Lot 1; Thence Easterly along the North line (extended) of Lots 1
thru 12 of said Block 22 a distance of 380.00 fee to the Point of Beginning.
Within said District the following alley shall be improved by 8" P.C.C. pavement and other
necessary appurtenances:
The alley from North Kansas Avenue to North Colorado Avenue between 1St
Street and 2nd Street including the intersections at North Kansas Avenue and
North Colorado Avenue in the City of Hastings, Nebraska
Section 3. All of said improvements shall be constructed to the established grades
as fixed by ordinances of the City of Hastings, and shall be constructed in accordance
with plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer, which plans shall be
approved by the Mayor and City Council. The improvements shall be made at public

cost, but special assessments shall be levied to reimburse the City for the cost of the
improvements as provided by law. '
Section 4. Notice of the creation of said Alley Improvement District No. 2008-1
shall be published in The Hastings Daily Tribune, a legal newspaper published in and of
general circulation within the City of Hastings, for three weeks after the publication of this
Ordinance.
Section 5. If any section, paragraph, clause, or provision of this Ordinance shall
be held .invalid, the invalidity of such section, paragraph, clause, or provision shall not
affect any of the other provisions of this Ordinance.
