1 ALL WORK SHALL BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS
OF THE CITY OF HASTINGS STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR PUBLIC
WORKS CONSTRUCTION IN THE EVENT A CONFLICT EXISTS BETWEEN
THE DRAWINGS AND THE SPECIFICATIONS, THE CITY OF HASTINGS
STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS SHALL GOVERN
2 THE LOCATIONS OF ALL AERIAL AND UNDERGROUND UTILITY FACILITIES
ARE APPROXIMATE OR MAY NOT BE INDICATED IN THESE PLANS
UNDERGROUND FACILITIES, WHETHER INDICATED OR NOT, WILL BE
LOCATED AND FLAGGED BY THE UTILITIES AT THE REQUEST OF THE
CONTRACTOR NO EXCAVATION WILL BE PERMITTED IN THE AREA UNTIL
ALL SUCH UNDERGROUND UTILITY FACILITIES HAVE BEEN LOCATED AND
IDENTIFIED TO THE SATISFACTION OF ALL PARTIES AND THEN ONLY WITH
EXTREME CARE TO AVOID ANY POSSIBILITY OF DAMAGE TO THE UTILITY

AT THE CONTRACTORS EXPENSE
3 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CALL FOR THE EXISTING UTILITY LOCATION
STAKES 48 HOURS PRIOR TO DIGGING CALL ALL APPLICABLE UTILITY
COMPANIES
4 ALL DEBRIS RESULTING FROM CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS SHALL BE
HAULED OFF—SITE AND PROPERLY DISPOSED OF
5 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH AND MAINTAIN ALL NECESSARY
BARRICADES, WARNING SIGNS, LIGHTS AND FLAGMAN AS REQUIRED BY
THE CITY OF HASTINGS AND AS DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER COST
SHALL BE CONSIDERED INCIDENTAL TO THE PROJECT
6 PROTECT, BY WHATEVER MEANS REQUIRED, ALL MAILBOXES, FENCES,
SIGNS,STRUCTURES, DRIVES, SIDEWALKS, STREETS, POLES, BUSHES,
TREES, ETC WHICH ARE NOT DESIGNATED FOR REMOVAL, OR ARE
OUTSIDE THE LIMITS OF CONSTRUCTION
7 PROVIDE POSITIVE DRAINAGE AT ALL TIMES WITHIN THE CONSTRUCTION
AREAS DO NOT ALLOW WATER TO POND IN EXCAVATION AREAS,
MAINTAIN ALL EXISTING DRAINAGE PATTERNS
8 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN TEMPORARY EROSION
CONTROL DEVICES, AS REQUIRED, BY THE CITY OF HASTINGS UTILITY
DEPARTMENT UPON COMPLETION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE
ALL TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL DEVICES UNLESS DIRECTED
OTHERWISE BY THE OWNER AFTER SUFFICIENT GROUND COVER HAS
BEEN ESTABLISHED AS DETERMINED BY THE OWNER, THE CONTRACTOR
SHALL REMOVE THE TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL DEVICES
INCLUDING SILT FENCING TERRACES AND SEDIMENT CONTROL BASINS,
AND ESTABLISH GROUND COVER IN DISTURBED AREAS
9 EXISTING SEWERS SHALL BE KEPT IN SERVICE AT ALL TIMES DURING
CONSTRUCTION OF THIS PROJECT
10 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ADJUST TO GRADE ALL WATER AND GAS VALVE
BOXES AND MANHOLES THAT FALL WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THIS
CONTRACT THE CONTRACTOR SHALL KEEP ALL SAID WATER, GAS AND
EXISTING SEWERS AND THEIR APPURTENANCES FREE OF DEBRIS AND
OPERABLE AT ALL TIMES DURING CONSTRUCTION
11 ALL DIMENSIONS AND ELEVATIONS MARKED WITH AN ASTERISK (*) SHALL
BE FIELD VERIFIED PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION NOTIFY THE ENGINEER OF
ANY CONFLICTS WITH THE DRAWINGS PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION
12 CONTRACTOR SHALL PAY ALL PERMIT FEES AND OTHER ASSOCIATED
FEES REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE PROJECT ALL
PROJECT PROCEDURE, MATERIALS, BONDS AND RESERVATIONS SHALL
CONFORM TO CITY OF HASTINGS STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS, AND ANY
ADDITIONS THERETO, ON FILE WITH THE CITY ENGINEER VERIFY ANY
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS WITH APPROPRIATE CITY OF HASTINGS
DEPARTMENTS
13 SUBGRADE TESTING SHALL BE AT THE DIRECTION OF THE ENGINEER AND
SHALL BE AT THE CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE ALL TESTS PERFORMED
