38TH STREET PAVING IMPROVEMENTS
HASTINGS, NEBRASKA
NOTES:
1) ALL CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE NEBRASKA
DEPARTMENT OF ROADS STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS AND PLAN DRAWINGS.
2) THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE EXACT
LOCATION OF EXISTING UTILITIES AND CONTACT ALL UTILITY COMPANIES
PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF CONSTRUCTION.
3) THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE CITY ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT AT
LEAST 48 HOURS PRIOR TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF CONSTRUCTION.
4) CONTRACTOR SHALL PRESERVE ALL PROPERTY CORNER MONUMENTS OR
RE-ESTABLISH THEM IF THEY ARE DISTURBED DURING CONSTRUCTION.
5) THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PRESERVE ALL SURVEY CONTROL.
6) THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE EXPENSE AND
COORDINATION OF ALL TESTING REQUIRED.
7) CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELD VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS AND LOCATIONS
SHOWN.
8) DIGGERS HOTLINE OF NEBRASKA 1-800-331-5666
9) UTILITY WORK TO BE PERFORMED BY HASTINGS UTILITIES. PROPOSED
WATER AND SEWER MAINS SHALL BE INSTALLED PRIOR TO STREET PAVING.
PLEASE CONTACT HASTINGS UTILITIES FOR THE COORDINATION OF THESE
EVENTS.
10) EMBANKMENT AND SUBGRADE SHALL BE ADJUSTED TO CONFORM TO THE
LINES AND GRADES SHOWN ON THE PLANS IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION
205 AND 302 OF THE 1997 STANDARD STATE SPECIFICATIONS AND ITS
SUPPLEMENTS. THE UPPER SIX (6) INCHES OF THE SUBGRADE SHALL BE
SCARIFIED, MIXED, AND RECOMPACTED TO THE FOLLOWING COMPACTION
REQUIREMENTS:
PERCENT DENSITY MOISTURE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS MAXIMUM
95 MIN.
OPT. -3% OPT. +3%
AREAS NOT MEETING SPECIFIED MOISTURE DENSITY TEST REQUIREMENTS
SHALL BE REMOVED AND RECOMPACTED AT THE CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE.
ALL SUBGRADE COMPACTION AND WATER NECESSARY FOR SUBGRADE
CONSTRUCTION SHALL NOT BE PAID FOR DIRECTLY BUT SHALL BE
CONSIDERED SUBSIDIARY TO THE ITEMS OF THE CONTRACT.
BACKFILLING, SAWING CONTROL JOINTS, KEYWAY, TIE BARS,
DOWEL PINS, AND RUBBERIZED JOINT SEALANT SHALL BE CONSIDERED
SUBSIDIARY TO THE UNIT PRICE PER SQUARE YARD OF PAVEMENT.
