plans or as specified in field by Engineer.
NOTE: Salvage subbase in areas as specified
on plans or as directed in field by Engineer.
ASPHALT PAVEMENT SPEC. SHEET
Laying, compacting and finishing shall be in accordance with sections
503and11028 of the 1997 Standard State Specifications and 2001 Supplemental

the subgrade shall be scarified, mixed and recompacted to the following
compaction requirements:
Percent Density Moisture Minimum Requirements Maximum
95 Min. Opt. -3%
Opt. +3%
Areas not meeting specified moisture density test requirements shall be
removed and recompacted at the Contractor's expense.
All subgrade compaction and water necessary for subgrade construction
shall not be paid for directly but shall be considered subsidiary to the
items of the contract.

ASPHALTIC CONCRETE, TYPE 17C W/.40 CRUSHED
Asphaltic Concrete, Type 17C, shall conform to the AASHTO T245 test for a
50 blow mix criteria.
Subsection 1007.01 in the Standard Specifications is amended to include
Asphaltic Concrete, Type 17C.
The combined mineral aggregate for Asphaltic Concrete, Type 17C, shall
have a minimum crushed value of 40 percent. The crushed value for mineral
aggregates shall follow the Special Provision, "CRUSHED AGGREGATE FOR
ASPHALTIC CONCRETE". Of the combined mineral aggregate not more than
60 percent can be limestone. The target field air void shall be 3.5 percent.
