Excavation and backfilling required for the installation of reinforced concrete pipe, inlets, manholes, junction boxes, etc. shall not be paid for directly'but shall be considered subsidiary to the bid price per lineal foot of pipe. Excavation of the detention cell in Harms Park shall be paid for as established quantity (E.Q.). Said bid price shall include the grubbing and clearing of all vegetative matter on the detention pond site and the City owned property on the northwest corner of "B" Street and Cedar Avenue. Borrow from this excavation shall be utilized in filling the existing ditches on the project. Any excess borrow shall be deposited at the northwest corner of "B" Street and Cedar Avenue or at "B" Street and Colorado Avenue dump site at the direction of the Engineer. The transportation of all borrow shall be considered subsidiary to the bid items as so previously referenced. Any trees that need to be removed or relocated will be made by the City of Hastings Parks Department. All streets;affected on this project shall be graded by the Contractor to a rural design section to the proposed centerline elevations as shown on the cross sections or as staked in the field by the Engineer to provide for positive drainage into the new system after pipe installation. This work shall be paid for as General Street Gradinglump sum. Gravel shall be paid for installed on a per cubic yard basis. 2. All concrete pavement shall be 6" P.C.C. Type ABX. Excavation, subgrade compaction, sawing, keyway, control joints, dowel pins, rubberized joint sealant -shall be considered subsidiary to the unit price per square yard. 3, Excavation Compaction and 204 of shall conform to lines and grades as shown on the plans. of backfill shallbe made in conformance with Section 203 the 1973 Standard State Specifications and its supplements. Percent Density 95 Min. Moisture Minimum Requirements Maximum Opt. -3% Opt. +3% Areas not meeting specified moisture density test requirements shall be removed and recompacted at the Contractor's expense. All compaction and water necessary for compaction shall not be paid for directly but shall be considered subsidiary to the bid items of the contract. 4. Water main adjustment per lineal foot shall include 450 elbows, flanges, fittings, any additional pipe necessary for said adjustment and installation of concrete thrust blocks. Any new main shall be C.I.P. or D.I.P. to match existing system. 5. Water service adjustments are to be made as shown on the plans. All private water -service adjustments shall be made by a licensed plumber with the City'of Hastings., Nebraska as per City Code. Water service stops and boxes to be utilized shall be Ford B22 -444M 1" and EM2-55-56 Ford. All water service lines shall be 1" Type "K" Copper, or matching existing. 6. If the Intersection Pavement Alternate is not chosen, it may be necessary to block up the 443 inlet lids with 8" concrete block to accept local conditions for the remaining unpaved streets. These blocks shall be grouted in place for easy removal and adjustment in future projects.
