The Adams County Board of Supervisors met as a Board of Equalization for the purpose of hearing and determining values of property valuation protests with Chairman Larry Woodman presiding.
Roll call members present were: kehoe, Curtis, Neumann, Hynes, Orthmann, Saathoff and Woodman. Also present were County Clerk Lewis, Assessor Hynes and appraisers Johnson & Kuhn.
Motion by Saathoff, seconded by Orthmann, that this is an open public meetings as advertised in the Hastings Tribune and a current agenda was posted in the County Clerk’s office. Roll
call, ayes: Kehoe, Curtis, Neumann, Hynes, Orthmann, Saathoff and Woodman. Nays, none.
The Chairman noted the postings of the open meetings act and the agenda in the room.
Supervisors Orthmann, Curtis, Saathoff and Woodman heard protests as scheduled on July 7th, 2010 and the remainder of the unheard protests to be heard at this public meeting.
Motion by Curtis, seconded by Saathoff to change the value of Walmart property, protests numbers 10-66 and 10-66 back to the 2009 values for a total of $11,194,000. Roll call, ayes:
Kehoe, Curtis, Neumann, Orthmann, Saathoff and Woodman. Nays, Hynes.
Motion b y Saathoff, seconded by Neumann to reduce the value of property owned by Thermo King, Protest number 10-83 to $5,100,000.00 due to functional obsolescence. Roll call, ayes:
Kehoe, Neumann, Hynes, Saathoff and Woodman. Nays, Curtis and Orthmann.
Motion by Neumann, seconded by Hynes to accept the appraiser’s recommendation to leave the value of property owned by Sharon and Pradipta Chaudari, protest number 10-81 at $949,740.
Roll call, ayes: Kehoe, Curtis, Neumann, Hynes, Orthmann, Saathoff and Woodman. Nays, none.
Motion by Neumann, seconded by Curtis to accept the appraiser’s recommendation of $141,960 for property owned by Steve Einsel, protest number 10-77. Roll call, ayes: Kehoe, Curtis,

Motion by Neumann, seconded by Hynes to accept the appraiser’s recommendation of $26,839,795 for property owned by AG Processors, case 10-86. Roll call, ayes: Kehoe, Curtis, Neumann<
Hynes, Orthmann, Saathoff and Woodman. Nays, none.
Motion by Neumann, seconded by Curtis to accept the appraiser’s recommendation of $3,006,270 for property owned by Highland Realty, protest number 10-49. Roll call, ayes: Kehoe, Curtis,
Neumann< Hynes, Orthmann, and Woodman. Nays, none. Saathoff, abstained.
Motion by Hynes, seconded by Orthmann to accept the appraiser’s recommendation of $174,505 for property owned by Neal Sahling, protest number 10-76. Roll call, ayes: kehoe, Curtis,
Neumann, Hynes, Orthmann< Saathoff and Woodman. Nays, none.
Motion by Neumann, seconded by Hynes to accept the appraiser’s recommendation of 48,858,400 for property owned by Menard’s, protest number 10-87. Roll call, ayes: Kehoe, Curtis, Neumann,

Motion by Orthmann, seconded by Curtis to approve Assessors request to correct value of property ID number 152-340.11, owner, Barbara Hager Trustee by changing value to out building
site reducing the value from $31,660 to $31,575. Roll call, ayes: Kehoe, Curtis, Neumann, Hynes, Orthmann, Saathoff and Woodman. Nays, none.
Motion by Saathoff, seconded by Neumann to approve Assessors request to correct value of property ID number 224-290 owners Robert and Cheryl Heil from $144,695 to $142,395. Roll call,
ayes: kehoe, Curtis, Neumann, Hynes, Orthmann, Saathoff and Woodman. Nays, none.
Motion by Hynes, seconded by Neumann to approve Assessors request to correct value of property ID number 224-440 , owners Robert and Cheryl Heil from $151,580 to $153,090. Roll call,
