A regular meeting of the Adams County Board of Supervisors was held as per public notice given with Vice Chairman, Chuck Neumann, presiding. Roll call members present were: Thomsen,
Curtis, Neumann, Hynes, Orthmann, and Saathoff . Woodman, absent..
Motion by Hynes, seconded by Orthmann, that this meeting is a regular meeting of the Adams County Board of Supervisors and public notice of this meeting has been given by publication
in the Hastings Tribune and by posting. An agenda was available to the members and an agenda was kept currently amended and posted in the County Clerkâs office. Roll call, ayes: Thomsen,
Curtis, Neumann, Hynes, Orthmann, and Saathoff . Nays, none. Woodman, absent.
The Vice Chairman announced the locations of the open meetings law and agendas in the room and also asked if there were any conflicts of interest with any agenda items.
Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as circulated.
Thomsen met with Building and Grounds committee, Harold, and Pioneer Engineering to discuss Grant money on Feb 2nd, and attended a Building and Grounds Committee meeting this morning.
Saathoff attended the Wellness Lunch & Learn on January 19th. The Road committee attended the township meeting on January 25th. Attended the Chamber meeting on Jan 26th and the HEDC
meeting on Jan 27th.
Hynes attended an Roseland Village meeting and on Jan 25th attended the township meeting. Attended Region 3 meeting. Review applications for Emergency Management Director.
Curtis attended the Wellness Lunch & Learn on Jan 19th. Attended the Drug Court meeting in Kearney on Jan 20th. There will be a graduation on March 4th at the Hastings Police Station.
Attended the Public Library and Extension Board meeting.
Orthmann attended the Wellness Lunch and Learn on Jan 19th. Attended the Joint Service meeting with the Building and Grounds committee and Harold on Feb 2nd. Attended the Building
and Grounds Committee this morning.
Neumann attended the Wellness Lunch and Learn on Jan 19th. He said the Wellness committee is meeting the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 10:30. Attended a Building and Grounds meeting
this morning.
During the public comments portion of the agenda, Eldon Orthmann commented on the e-mail he got from Charles McGraw, Transportation Director RYDE Transit on publishing Public Notices.
The cost difference of the same notice in two different papers.
Neumann told the Board he wanted them to call Senator Utter to oppose LB383.
Shay Burk, from the Hasting Tribune, told the Board she spoke to Senator Utter, and he told her LB383 would only affect the budget 1 to 2 percent.
Motion by Orthmann, seconded by Curtis to move to Board of Equalization for Tax List Correction, Real Estate and Personal Property Exemptions. Roll call, ayes: Thomsen, Curtis, Neumann,
Hynes, Orthmann, and Saathoff. Nays, none. Woodman absent. Entered Board of Equalization at 10:00 A.M.
Motion by Orthmann, seconded by Hynes to return to regular session. Roll call ayes: Thomsen, Curtis, Neumann, Hynes, Orthmann, and Saathoff. Nays, none. Woodman absent. Returned
to regular session at 10:15 AM.
Greg Anderson, Assistant Highway Superintendent gave a preliminary to the Board on the One and Six Year Road/Bridge Improvement Plan. A public hearing is scheduled for 10 A.M., Feb
15th in the Adams County Board Room.
Motion by Hynes, seconded by Curtis to approve Certificate of Compliance for Maintenance Agent #116A with NDOR. Roll call, ayes: Thomsen, Curtis, Neumann, Hynes, Orthmann, and Saathoff.
Nays, none. Woodman absent.
Motion by Saathoff, seconded by Thomsen to approve claims and authorize the County Clerk to pay that same from their respective funds. Roll call, ayes: Thomsen, Curtis, Neumann, Hynes,
Orthmann, and Saathoff. Nays, none. Woodman absent.
Motion by Orthmann, seconded by Hynes to move to Board of Equalization for Motor Vehicles. Roll call, ayes: Thomsen, Curtis, Neumann, Hynes, Orthmann, and Saathoff, Nays, none. Woodman
absent. Entered Board of Equalization 11:15.
Motion by Curtis, seconded by Orthmann to return to regular session. Roll call ayes: Thomsen, Curtis, Neumann, Hynes, Orthmann, and Saathoff. Nays, none. Woodman absent.
Motion by Orthmann, seconded by Curtis to enter into Executive Session for Contracts & Personnel. Entered Executive Session at 11:25 AM.
Motion by Orthmann, seconded by Curtis to return to regular session. Roll call, ayes: Thomsen, Curtis, Neumann, Hynes, Orthmann, and Saathoff. Nays, none. Woodman absent. Entered
regular session at 11:45 AM.
The Board adjourned at this time. Went to the Road Dept at 1:30 for a Workshop.

The Adams County Board of Supervisor met as a Board of Equalization for the purpose of hearing motor
vehicles, real estate and personal property exemption applications with Vice Chairman, Chuck Neumann presiding. Roll call members present were: Thomsen, Curtis, Neumann, Hynes, Orthmann,
and Saathoff.
Woodman, absent. Also present were Deputy County Clerk Johnson, Attorney Lee, Treasurer Davis, and Assessor Hynes.
Motion by Saathoff, seconded by Thomsen to approve the personal property exemption for Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska Inc at 2727 West 2nd St. Hastings Ne. Roll call, ayes:
Thomsen, Curtis, Neumann, Hynes, Orthmann, and Saathoff. Nays, none. Woodman absent.
Motion by Curtis, seconded by Saathoff to approve the real estate exemption for Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, ID # 284-10112. Roll call ayes: Thomsen, Curtis, Neumann, Hynes, Orthmann,
and Saathoff. Nays, none. Woodman absent.
Motion by Curtis, seconded by Saathoff to approve and authorize the Vice Chairman to sign Tax List Correction Certificate number 13733. Roll call ayes: Thomsen, Curtis, Neumann, Hynes,
Orthmann, and Saathoff. Nays, none. Woodman absent.
Motion by Orthmann, seconded by Thomsen, to approve motor vehicle exemptions for Mosaic for a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier and for a 2011 Toyota Sierra Van. Roll call ayes: Thomsen, Curtis,
Neumann, Hynes, Orthmann, and Saathoff. Nays, none. Woodman absent.
Motion by Orthmann, seconded by Hynes to return to regular session. Roll call ayes: Thomsen, Curtis, Neumann, Hynes, Orthmann, and Saathoff. Nays, none. Woodman Absent.
