Brief Description of Project: The Prairie Loft Center for Outdoor and Agricultural Learning respectfully requests a grant from the Adams County Convention&Visitors Bureau Improvement Fund in support of our capital campaign, specifically directed toward renovation of the Workshop(the project name was changed from "Education Center"in 2015).The renovation will transform a former farm maintenance building into a multi-function,energy-efficient,year-round facility to significantly increase capacity for education and community programming. Prairie._oft respectfully requests new funding support in the amount of$15,000 to help finish Phase 2 of construction of the Workshop Renovation. This phase of work in the north end of the building creates 2,400 square feet of temperature-controlled space for year-round activities. Thanks to generous community support from the community,we have already made significant progress with renovations to Prairie Loft's program facility.Since capital improvements began, our education program capacity and participant numbers have both nearly tripled. The renovated Workshop facility will expand our programs and event space for the community with approximately 5,000 square feet of multi-purpose,accessible space for education in a unique agrarian setting.Prairie Loft is ideally suited to implement this project. We have proven success through planning, implementation and results over eleven years of site improvements and programs benefitting more than 70,000 people. With further upgrades to the buildings and grounds, our capacity will grow and earned operating revenue will increase from the current 40%to at least 50%of our income stream, keeping Prairie Loft sustainable far into the future. We are committed to providing an accessible place that fosters our community culture and offers space for exceptional education and community participation. We are grateful for the previous Improvement Fund grant assistance on this project. We look forward to continuing the partnership with the CVB on this project.Thank you for your consideration of this request.
